Ies Muller is considered to be one of the best folk flute players in Holland today. He was introduced to Irish and Breton music and the wooden transverse flute at a young age. Inspired by the sound of this instrument he started playing and learning more and more music. Travelling to Ireland, Scotland and Brittany, as well as Spain he expanded his repertoire and absorbed many characteristics that give the music of these regions their form. While Irish and Breton music remained the heart of his playing style and repertoire, more influences followed. He participated in several projects with musicians from various genres including classical music, jazz and world music. These encounters helped further forming his current style of playing.
